Health Rules

1.  See 1,2,3 & 4 in Health Rules for all Livestock

 

2.  Required:  Individual official animal identification.  

     Official ID will have a metal tag and includes:

  a) A USDA-issued National Uniform Ear Tagging System (NUES) Tag; or

  b) A 15-digit Animal Identification Number ear tag starting with "840" (including RFID); or

  c) Other official identification approved by USDA (Brands and breed registrations with          tattoos are not acceptable)

 

 

Out of State Cattle:

 

All out of state cattle must follow the rules as set for Pennsylvania cattle, plus see #5 under Health Rules for all Livestock and the following:

 

Testing: 

 

Brucellosis:  

Exhibition animals originating from a brucellosis free state may enter without testing.

 

Tuberculosis:  

No testing is required for animals originating from "Accredited Free" states or zones.

 

-All animals originating from state or zones designated "Modified Accredited Advanced" bust be tested negative within the 60 days prior to the date of importation.  The negative test results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied by a negative test report ( a copy of the original report is acceptable).

 

-All animals originating from states or zones designated "Modified Accredited" must originate from hers in which all animals 12 months of age and older are tested negative within the 12 months prior to the date of importation, and the animals to be imported are tested negative within the 60 days prior to the date of importation and at least 60 days after the negative whole herd test.  the negative test results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied by a negative test report ( a copy of the original test report is acceptable).
